Kick or Treat!

If you were lucky enough to get a Kick or Treat card, we want to tell you a little about us. We teach ATA Taekwondo Classes at Hope Community Church located on 21st street North in Andover a little more than a mile East of Andover road near the turnpike enterance. Classes are in the SE corner of the building. Beginning classes are at 6 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Pool Party!

On Thursday, July 9th we will meet at the Towanda City Pool instead of the Church. There will a Black Belt class in the pool at 6:30 with everyone welcome for the fun at 7:00. See you there! If you need directions, please call 253-1145.

World Championship Week

Good luck to all competitors going to World's! For those of you that can't make it, opening ceremonies can be watched Friday June 26th at 6:30 pm at:

June 26th there will only be one class from 6:00 to 7:00 PM for all ranks.

Testing is tentatively set for August 22nd.

Classes Moved

Due to Vacation Bible School in our usual class location, we are holding classes on Tuesday and Thursday this week at the Andover Community Center. The Community Center is at 1008 E 13th in Andover. Take 13th street East of Andover road a little more than half a mile. See you there!

Bellevue Nebraska Tournament

Here are the placings for the April 4 Bellevue tournament.
- Mr. Chaplin - 2nd forms, 2nd sparring, 2nd weapons
- Lisa Mayhugh - 1st forms, 1st sparring, 1st weapons
- Madisen Huscher - 4th forms, 2nd sparring
- Payton Lear - 2nd forms, 1st sparring, 4th weapons
- Elizabeth Metz - 1st form, 3rd sparring, 4th weapons

We will wait a little later and make a call on classes tonight. Check back after 5 to know for sure. It isn't supposed to do this in March! This will probably be the first time that my middle one, Benjamin, will have soccer cancelled because of snow.

Due to road conditions and area schools being let out we are cancelling classes tonight. If you were going to McPherson for the clinics tomorrow, please call before you go. Mr. Willems said they would wait to see what it was like up there tomorrow before a decision was made to hold the clinics. His number is in the March 17th posting.

Reminder - No class this Friday, March 20th
Fight Night will be held at the school in McPherson for camo belts and above
Camo thru Brown belts are 7:00 to 8:00 and Red thru all black belts are 8:00 to 9:00.

April 11th - Testing - Mr. Willems, 5th degree Black Belt from McPherson, KS will be our guest judge
May 2nd - Black Belt sparring tournament in Lincoln Nebraska

Friday, February 27th

Class tonight will be held in the lobby of the church. Go in the doors you regularly do and then turn right down the hall to the end. Pictures will also be in one of the classrooms in that hallway. Look forward to seeing you!

Belts will be awarded from the February 7th testing on February 10th

February Events

Fight Night at Mr. Hackerott's school in Manhattan on Friday, February 6th.

Testing at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 7th.

Parent's Night out on Friday, February 13th. RSVP required for this event. Drop off your kids and their buddies between 6 and 6:30 and pick them up between 9:30 and 10:00. Ages Kindergarten and above.

January 27, 2009

Reports are that the church parking lot and roads around Andover are very icy tonight so we are canceling classes. Classes will be held as usual on Thursday and Friday. Thanks for your understanding and stay safe. (and warm)

12:30 - 1:30 - Color belt workout - all ranks are welcome to attend. Guest instructor Mr. Hackerott, 4th degree black belt from Manhattan, Kansas
1:30 - 2:30 - Black belt workout with Mr. Hackerott - 1st degree decided Black Belt and above

Manhattan Tournament Was a Great Success

We had 13 students attend the tournament on December 13, 2008. The students did really well and here are their placings.

Mr. Aaron Chaplin got 1st in weapons, 2nd in forms and 3rd in sparring
Mr. Jessie Womble placed 4th in sparring
Mr. David Hendershot received 2nd in sparring and 3rd in weapons
Elizabeth Metz got 1st in sparring and 1st in forms
Briggs Erwin placed 3rd in forms, 2nd in weapons and 3rd in sparring
Payton Lear received 3rd in forms and 3rd in weapons
Jennifer Todd got 3rd in forms
Mr. Logan Nelson placed 4th in weapons
Mr. Jack Womble received 1st in sparring and 2nd in forms
Miss Madisen Huscher got 3rd in sparring
Miss Michaela Ensor placed 2nd in sparring and 3rd in forms
Lisa Mayhugh received 1st in forms and 2nd in sparring
Mr. Ben Chaplin got 4th in forms

These students all did very well and we hope to see them and you at future tournaments.
